County Felony and Misdemeanor History

Civil court search: Trained court researchers go directly to courthouses to obtain civil records. This search will alert the employer of previous "wrongful termination" lawsuits filed by the applicant, as well as providing a portrait should the applicant have a litigious nature.

County felony search: Checks one upper court based on the county submitted. It provides information consisting of upper level (felony) charges. Lower level (misdemeanor) charges may or may not be included. Examples include grand theft, rape, and murder.

County misdemeanor search: Checks one lower level court based on the city and county submitted. It provides information consisting of lower level (misdemeanor) charges. Felonies may or may not be included. Examples of misdemeanor cases include driving under the influence (DUI) and petty theft.

County seat felony and misdemeanor search: This checks one upper level and one lower level court at the county seat and provides felonies and misdemeanors available at that location. Traffic violations are not included. The seriousness of the charge determines in which court a criminal action is filed. Examples of felony cases include grand theft, rape, and murder. Examples of misdemeanor cases include trespassing, driving under the influence (DUI), possession of a controlled substance, and petty theft.

Statewide Criminal Search

This search checks the selected state’s central criminal repository for criminal records. Information will consist of upper level (felony) charges. Misdemeanors may or may not be included. Each state varies in regard to what is maintained in its criminal repository.

Response may include defendant, physical description, arrest date, arresting agency, case number, charges and disposition.

This search is utilized to increase the scope of your criminal record check. The information contained and dates of coverage vary by state and may include arrest records. Arrest records may not be used in many states for purposes of employment decisions. This search is not available in all states for all applicant screening.

Federal Criminal Records

In addition to county criminal searches, which reflect charges against the state, we can also provide federal criminal records. Federal records include charges against the government and examples include bank robbery and embezzlement.

Our researchers go directly to federal district courts to determine if the applicant has a record.

Wants and Warrants Search

This search is conducted through a government agency and checks for outstanding wants and warrants that have been remanded to the nationwide database by local, county, state, and federal agencies.

This search requires verification by the agency issuing the warrant before any action is taken.

Social Security History

This search can discover counties and aliases that are not reported on a job application. This important feature reduces exposure by helping assure that thorough research has been performed.

All possible name and county combinations are presented in an easy 'point and click' summary grid.

Credit Report

An employment credit report demonstrates an applicant’s financial responsibility and identifies public record information such as liens, judgments, and bankruptcies.

A credit report also aids in verifying previous employment and address information.

Driving Record

The DMV Driving Record is an integral part of any background check.

In addition to providing identifying information, such as physical description and date of birth, this report can provide insight into a person’s character. This statewide search lists violations, accidents, and dates of conviction.

Employment Verification

This search verifies previous employment history. Our basic search verifies dates of employment, job title, salary, and reason for separation. The Extended search includes our basic search plus provides information pertaining to attendance record, promotions received, ability to work well with others, eligibility for rehire, and overall work record.

Education Verification (highest degree): This search verifies the degree held by the applicant. All types of institutions can be contacted including undergraduate, graduate, technical, business, and trade school.

We also offer a custom search, in which we verify the basic information plus work with the client to create a series of questions based on their requirements.

Reference Verification

WSA Security, Inc. contacts both personal and business reference(s) to obtain information on the applicant.

This may include questions about dependability, ability to get along with others, work ethic, integrity, character as well as general knowledge about the applicant.

Workers Compensation

This search may be useful for verifying filings and for establishing possible patterns involving claims for injuries.

Details may include subject’s name, Social Security Number, date of birth, employer’s name, date and type of accident, nature of injury, affected body part, extent of disability and date of return to work.

Some states require a release signed by the subject. California requires EDEX subscriber code.
